ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF PHENOMENOLOGY IN LATVIA: 1920–2020

Looking over a hundred years, it should be acknowledged that phenomenological studies in Latvia were initially carried out the twenties and thirties of 20th century, starting with 1) Husserl’s criticism solipsism (T. Celms), 2) analysis forms community (K. Stavenhagen), 3) development cognitive phenomenology Ladusāns’ many-sided gnoseology. It was not possible to work on during harsher years Soviet regime (1945–1970), but mid-1970s, circle emerged Riga under influence Nelly Motroshilova Merab Mamardashvili. Its focus issues consciousness language, ontology, communication, time-consciousness. Since 1990, have been expanding, four international conferences held cooperation World Phenomenology Institute, nine monographs published, 56 articles from published Analecta Husserliana. Themes papers presentations included historicity, space time, passions, teleology, educational philosophy, aesthetics. 2005, phenomenology-related doctoral theses defended Riga. Over last decade, greater has given applied phenomenology, its relationships medicine, social media, violence research. Phenomenologists influenced transformation classical philosophy towards wider horizons reflected necessity consider concepts life, nature, body, we-consciousness, also opened way for contemporary perspective dialogue sciences, linguistics, identity psychoanalysis.
